The majority of short film very in genre and mostly hold and experimental and "crazy" narrative using captivating images and shots to make audience step back and view what ever topic being demonstrated in a different light. It is the medium for innovation and is also used as a safety net for directors giving the the opportunity to try out a style of film before risking a huge budget making a feature length film which a narrative and style of film with out knowing how a mass audience may react.
Most short films are Amateur films with a small cast that aim to project a message or tell a story in an experimental way. the majority of short films made by amateur film makers are grainy and gritty and hit near enough reality in a effective way. Short film can always be made in any genre but mainly started in documentary. The first film in history was a short film.
